Duel monumental : Espionnage

The espionage mechanic completely changed how our group plays — secretly funding Aksum's trade routes while everyone else builds in the open is so satisfying. Games wrap up in under an hour but still feel like a full sweep through the ages.

The espionage box adds a sneaky layer I didn't expect, letting you sabotage rivals while you build up Aksum or Greece. Games wrap up fast, usually under an hour, which is perfect for weeknights. Honestly didn't think I'd care about the shadow mechanics until I tried them.

Played three games back to back the first night, and the antiquity-to-modern progression keeps every round feeling different. The hidden agent cards add a layer of bluffing I didn't expect from a city builder, and turns stay quick enough that nobody's waiting around.
