The Eldritch dice add such a fun twist to the base game, especially once portals start chaining across your network. Rituals give you something to chase besides the usual routes, which keeps every round feeling fresh.
The ritual expansion genuinely changes how you plan your routes, since you're now juggling portals on top of the usual dice. Took a couple of games to click, but once it did my whole table wanted another round.
Adding portals to the regular route dice made each round way more tense, since you're gambling on whether that extra connection actually pays off. The Eldritch dice fit right into my base game box too, no extra storage hassle.
