Death Wish is a light-hearted party card game where the goal is to be the first player to die from fictional diseases. Truly a game you're dying to win. Players take turns to collect matching symptoms and afflicters with the aim of contracting the diseases displayed on the table.
Played this with four friends and we were in tears laughing by round two. The race to collect matching symptoms before someone dies of something ridiculous keeps everyone at the table way longer than we planned.
The symptom-matching mechanic is simple enough to teach in under a minute, and the dark humor of racing to die first had our whole table laughing out loud. We played three rounds back-to-back without anyone checking their phone.
Took this to a friend’s birthday party and we couldn’t stop laughing at how ridiculous the symptom-matching gets. The first-to-die goal makes every turn feel urgent, and the game stayed fun even after three rounds.
