STARSHIP INTERSTELLAR: DANGER FROM KUIPER EXPANSION - During the game the players will be able to capture asteroids thanks to their launch bases, located on the asteroid belt. The asteroid thus acquired will create a personalised effect track, which will give each player unique bonuses.
Grabbing asteroids with the launch bases on the belt adds a whole new layer I didn't know I was missing. Our group's third game turned into a tense race for the best rocks, and nobody wanted to stop. Best expansion I've picked up in a while.
The Kuiper expansion fixes the mid-game slump the base game always had — suddenly every asteroid feels worth fighting over. Grabbing rocks with the launch bases adds a whole new layer of timing and risk.
Adding the launch bases on the asteroid belt changed how our group plays entirely, since you're suddenly racing to grab rocks before anyone else does. Our four-player games now run about twenty minutes longer and nobody's complained yet.
