Aye, Dark Overlord (Green Box)

Our game night group is picky about party games, but the goblin servant setup had everyone arguing over who to blame for the failed mission within one round. It plays fast, which is perfect since we usually squeeze in a few rounds before people head home.

I grabbed this on a whim for a birthday party and it stole the whole night. Playing a sniveling goblin servant making excuses to the Dark Overlord is hilarious, and the rules took maybe five minutes to explain to a tipsy group. Fast, silly, and easy to teach.

Our game nights had gotten pretty stale until this showed up, but the "excuses" mechanic where you're a goblin making up ridiculous alibis for your boss had us all shouting over each other for two hours straight. It's dead simple to explain and the humor lands every single round, even with my friend
