Bought this for date nights and we've ended up playing it solo too, which I didn't expect. The asymmetric character abilities make every run feel different, and the island escape timer keeps the tension high right to the last round. Genuinely tense co-op that doesn't need a screen.
We finally got a full four-player game going and the cooperative turns kept everyone arguing in the best way. Managing the escape as a team instead of just shooting our way out was way more tense than I expected.
Played it with just my wife as a two-player run and it still held up great, though the tactical co-op really shines once you coordinate who grabs which objective card. The Rook Islands premise translates surprisingly well to a tabletop.
