『サンライズレーン』では、プレイヤーは建設会社の役割を担い、住宅街を建設していきます。そのためには、家や町の建造物を建てるための、価値のある区画を選び取る必要があります。
より詳細には、ゲームボードは1～5個の点が単一の色で描かれたマスのグリッドで構成されており、各プレイヤーは色付きの家コマのセットを持っています。ただし、コマの色はボード上のマスとは関係ありません。手番では、山札から色付きカードを2枚引き手札に加えるか（手札は5枚まで）、カードを捨てて建造物を配置し、その後カードを1枚引きます。
My group plays a lot of heavier euros, so I was surprised how tense the housing race gets here. Picking which plots to develop before someone else grabs them keeps everyone leaning over the table the whole game.
The land-grab phase is way more cutthroat than it looks, and I love that you're never just building houses, you're racing for the prestigious plots before someone snipes them. Taught three new people in about ten minutes and they were hooked by the second round.
I picked this up for game night and the plot-selection tension is way more cutthroat than I expected. Fighting over the prestigious corner lots while everyone else is stuck with the leftovers never gets old. Turns move fast too, so nobody's sitting around waiting.
